Looking for the best credit cards in France? With banqo.fr you can compare the best credit card deals and benefits.
Did you ever consider to acquire items and not to down-pay, but only to pay later and in several instalments? Well, many cards nowadays offer you this opportunity.
Banks want you not to bear the immediate pain of entirely paying for the items you buy. Usually they will offer you a short-term credit, by giving you the possibility to pay for your purchases in several instalments. Since you will pay later, such advantage will come with a cost that is, you will pay an interest. Such option is usually not automatic and will need a digital confirmation by you (i.e. e-signature), transaction by transaction. This means that you are in full control of your expenses. The number of instalments may vary from card to card, purchase to purchase or bank to bank.
Sometimes, for certain types of cards and up to certain amounts (i.e. 50€), or beyond certain amounts (i.e. 100€), the banks may offer you free interest for this type of payment. Usually, the more you have paid for your credit card, the less interest you can expect for the instalments payment, although this will very much depend from bank to bank. Also, this type of payment may not be open with all merchants and usually, banks may have special deals with some of them, where you can enjoy the instalment advantage along with special discounts. Finally, you may pay in monthly or trimestral instalments.
Although you may relieve some pain from the down-payment this advantage may come with the downside of paying interest that is, a slightly inflated price in the end. Therefore, the trade of between the pain of paying now, free of interest, and paying later with interest is a personal choice.
