What if your regular spending would translate in air miles that you can use to travel the world or have access to other benefits?
What is this type of credit card about?
Some banks offers you the chance to accumulate air miles directly on your credit card as you regularly pay for your flight tickets or different items. The miles you will have accumulated can be used either to acquire flight tickets, or to have access to in-kind benefits, such as access to lunges in many airports. Definitely you will save money for your future travels, but note that only a part of the total cost of your ticket can be paid with the miles as, the airport taxes, usually included in the ticket price, will need to be paid separately.
What are the benefits and disadvantages?
The accumulation of the miles depends on the type of credit card you have. In general, more costly credit cards will offer you a better deal per each 1€ spent in purchases and usually 1€ spent to buy a flight ticket will be worth more than 1€ spent to acquire regular items. Yet, some credit cards will offer you a certain number of miles as an opening gift. The banks work in general with certain airlines networks, so the miles can be spent only with those airlines and for a certain period of time. Often the payments made with your credit cards for the airlines tickets can be made in instalments.

Our advice
In general, air miles must be spent within a certain period of time, so better take regular holidays for which you will partially pay with your miles. However, although your regular spending behaviour is rewarded with air miles, you will need to pay for the airport taxes and charges.
